PWBM Briefing: Integrated Economic Analysis of Healthcare Policy

  • This briefing will be held as a webinar. (map)

Access to affordable health care consistently ranks as one of voters' top policy priorities. PWBM projects that under current law, the U.S. uninsurance rate will more than double over the next 40 years, growing from around 10 percent today to over 27 percent by 2060. In this briefing, PWBM Senior Economist Felix Reichling will break down how PWBM analyzes healthcare policy reforms and how the healthcare system and economy interact. Participants will learn about PWBM's integrated health model as well as PWBM analyses of prescription drug prices, Medicare for All, and presidential candidate Joe Biden's healthcare platform.

This briefing is an elective lesson in PWBM’s new Certificate for Policy Professionals, which is geared toward congressional staffers and other public policy professionals who work in the Washington, DC area. The program will train students in the economics of public policies and the process of how policies are made. After completing the program, certificate earners will be better prepared to understand and articulate the economic trade-offs of legislation. Please visit our certificate page to learn more and apply.

Instructor: Felix Reichling, PWBM Senior Economist
